Jake Schreier Drops New ‘Thunderbolts*’ BTS Footage — First Look at the Action Ahead!
Thunderbolts* is shaping up to be one of the most exciting upcoming releases in the MCU.
The movie will bring together what fans have called the MCU’s own “Suicide Squad,” and will introduce one of the most powerful characters from Marvel Comics, Sentry.
While fans can expect some truly insane stunts, the cast and crew have already revealed that Thunderbolts won’t be just non-stop action. The movie will also tug at your heartstrings, as several of Marvel’s misfit characters finally find a place where they truly belong.
Now, with less than a week to go before the film’s release, director Jake Schreier shared some behind-the-scenes footage on his Instagram, thanking the incredible cast and crew who worked tirelessly to bring this project to life.
The new behind-the-scenes footage from Thunderbolts* shows lots of action. There are big explosions, fast car chases, and an amazing stunt by Florence Pugh, where she jumps from the second-tallest building in the world. The footage looks wild, and fans are excited to see the final movie.
Early reactions from audiences have been very positive. People are saying the movie shows something completely new for the MCU.
The screenplay is written by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo. The movie stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The story is about a group of antiheroes who are trapped and must work together on a dangerous mission.
Marvel first hinted at the Thunderbolts team in 2021. The movie was officially announced in 2022. Casting continued into early 2023. Lee Sung Jin later helped rewrite the script.
Filming was delayed because of the Hollywood strikes in 2023. Some cast members were changed in 2024. Filming took place from February to June 2024 in Georgia, Utah, and Kuala Lumpur.
Thunderbolts* premiered in London on April 22, 2025, and will release globally on May 2, 2025. It will be the final movie of MCU Phase Five.
