Jameela Jamil’s Leaked Messages Call Blake Lively a ‘Suicide Bomber’
Jameela Jamil is back in the headlines after private text messages about Blake Lively were revealed in court documents. The Good Place star allegedly sent messages in August 2024 that criticized Lively while messaging Justin Baldoni’s publicist, Jennifer Abel. The texts were part of legal filings from Lively’s ongoing lawsuit against Baldoni, her director and co-star on It Ends With Us, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The conversation started when Abel commented on a TikTok video that called Lively’s movie promotion out of touch and tone-deaf. Abel even suggested using harsh language to describe the situation, writing about terms like nightmare c*** and demon c*** Jamil responded bluntly, saying that she’s a suicide bomber at this point, referring to the backlash Lively faced while promoting the film.
Fans had criticized Lively for focusing on her haircare line and lighthearted interviews instead of addressing the movie’s serious subject matter, which deals with domestic violence.
The leaked messages show that Jamil and Abel were not impressed with Lively’s attempts to respond to criticism. After Lively shared a link to a domestic violence hotline on social media, Jamil wrote that the post was so cold, just some stats and a link. At one point, she added, I’ve never seen such a bizarre villain act before. She’s OVER over. The documents also include other communications involving celebrities like Taylor Swift and emails to Ben Affleck.
A source close to Lively told TMZ that the messages are disappointing. They said attacks like this focus on calling women names instead of listening to their experiences and described the behavior as defending a fake male feminist.
The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni continues to heat up. Lively is seeking $161 million in damages, claiming Baldoni sexually harassed her on set. Baldoni has denied all allegations. A judge recently pushed the trial back to May 18, to accommodate other cases.
Both stars are continuing to work despite the drama. Jamil recently appeared in the Netflix film People We Meet on Vacation and is voicing a character in Pixar’s movie Elio.
Lively has been busy as well. She recently finished filming the sequel to Another Simple Favor and is set to star in a new action rom-com called The Survival List. She also has ongoing projects under her Lionsgate production deal.
Fans are now left wondering whether the leaked messages from Jamil will change how they view the ongoing drama between Lively and Baldoni.
