Fans are wondering if Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn in James Gunn’s new DC Universe, or if her version of the character is done for good. Gunn, who is now co-head of DC Studios alongside Peter Safran, has been busy rebooting the DC on-screen world with a new lineup of movies and shows.

The new slate started last year with Gunn’s Creature Commandos. The new universe also has a corporate-style Justice Gang instead of the classic Justice League, and new versions of Wonder Woman and Batman are still to be cast.

Robert Pattinson will return for The Batman Part II, but the future of Harley Quinn is still uncertain.

When asked if Robbie would return, Gunn told Entertainment Weekly, “That will be revealed down the line.” He didn’t provide any further details about Harley Quinn, keeping fans guessing about whether Robbie will reprise her fan-favorite role.

While he stayed quiet on Harley, Gunn did reveal that he’s eager to bring back another member of the Suicide Squad: Idris Elba’s Bloodsport. “I definitely am always looking for a place to put Bloodsport and figuring that out. So we’ll see what happens,” he said.

For those who need a refresher, Robert DuBois, aka Bloodsport, is a mercenary with advanced weapons who was hired to kill Superman with a kryptonite bullet but failed. He was arrested and sent to Belle Reve prison, where he joined Task Force X.

During his time there, he formed a close bond with Ratcatcher 2, played a key role in defeating the alien Starro, and even confronted Peacemaker after the latter killed Rick Flag and threatened Cleo. Bloodsport eventually blackmailed Amanda Waller into freeing him and his surviving teammates, proving he was a capable leader.

Bloodsport first appeared in The Suicide Squad and was also featured in flashbacks on the Peacemaker series. With Gunn expressing interest in bringing him back, fans may see Elba’s character playing a bigger role in the new DC Universe.
