James Gunn Defends Hal Jordan’s Fate in ‘Lanterns’ and Can’t Stop Praising Kyle Chandler
‘Lanterns‘ has spent the last several weeks proving itself one of HBO’s biggest swings of the year, blending prestige crime drama with cosmic mythology in a way that’s kept both critics and comic book die-hards talking. “We more than respect him. We love him, despite his imperfections. Us knowing the time of his death, if that’s exactly what that is, is absolutely not the same thing as killing him off right away,” Gunn wrote, adding that Hal remains one of the biggest reasons the show has resonated with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
