James Gunn Reveals Which ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Cast Members Have Hidden Roles in New ‘Superman’ Film

James Gunn, who directed the popular Guardians of the Galaxy movies, is now working on a new Superman film for DC. Fans have been wondering if any actors from Guardians would make a surprise appearance. Recently, Gunn revealed some exciting details about cameos in the movie.

In an interview with BuzzFeed Australia, Gunn shared that Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Michael Rooker all appear as robots in the Superman film. Bradley Cooper is well-known for voicing Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy.

When asked about other Guardians stars like Zoe Saldaña and Dave Bautista, Gunn hinted that they might show up in future projects, saying they are “keeping them in the wings.”

Before filming began, Gunn also asked fans for suggestions about a role for Dave Bautista in the DC Universe, which shows he is open to more crossovers between Marvel and DC.

Gunn also talked about DC’s busy schedule ahead. He mentioned that after Superman’s release in July, the show Peacemaker starts in August. Other upcoming projects include shows about Supergirl, Clayface, and Lanterns. He said, “Now that we’re starting, it’s going to start coming pretty full force at people.”

The new Superman movie stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent. The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced. The story focuses on Superman’s struggle to accept his alien heritage while growing up with human parents.

Warner Bros. will release Superman in theaters on July 11, 2025. This film will be the first in DC’s new series called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
