Jason Momoa and his family faced a frightening situation during a massive storm in Hawaii. The “Aquaman” star shared an emotional video on Instagram, showing the destruction caused by heavy rains, landslides, and strong winds on the island of Oahu. TMZ reported the actor’s update.

Momoa said that he and his loved ones had to leave Oahu’s North Shore after losing power at the place they were staying. In his video, he said, “We’re safe now, but there’s a lot of people who weren’t, so sending all our love.”

He and his girlfriend also posted a photo online, hugging inside a house while talking about the impact of the storm over the past weeks. They mentioned that they have seen “families displaced and communities struggling, and our unhoused neighbors hit the hardest.” They urged locals to check on neighbors and make sure everyone is safe.

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency warned that the storm is ongoing and could bring more heavy rain, especially near Oahu’s Wahiawa dam. Hawaii Governor Josh Green confirmed that no lives had been lost as of Saturday afternoon, though there were “a few serious injuries.” Officials said about ten people were treated for hypothermia, and 230 residents have already been rescued.

Jason Momoa and other residents of Hawaii are dealing with tough conditions as the storm continues. TMZ notes that while Momoa and his family are safe, many others on the island are still at risk.

It’s a reminder of how unpredictable natural disasters can be, even for those in the public eye. Momoa’s openness about the storm is admirable, and it shows the importance of looking out for one another during emergencies.
