Jenna Ortega has a knack for turning even a quick walk between appointments into a fashion talking point. The latest example is the Jenna Ortega BBC London sighting, which arrived right as her newest film began its international promotional run. Here’s what was behind the trip and what it means for the months ahead.

Ortega’s schedule has been busy, to say the least. She leads ‘Wednesday’ for Netflix, where season 3 was greenlit in July 2025 and has been filming in Dublin, with a first-look image teasing a Paris adventure for Wednesday and Thing. The new season is expected to return in 2027, and she has also joined J.J. Abrams’ ‘The Great Beyond’ alongside Glen Powell, which is due in October 2027.

Right now, though, her focus is on ‘Klara and the Sun,‘ directed by Taika Waititi and based on a Kazuo Ishiguro novel. Ortega plays Klara, an artificial friend desperate to find a loving home, whose story intertwines with Josie, a young woman with a strained relationship with her mother. Amy Adams co-stars, alongside Steve Buscemi, Natasha Lyonne, Simon Baker and Aran Murphy as Rick.

Ortega was photographed on October 14 outside the BBC studios in Central London, wearing a camel-brown wrap-style coat dress with her arms folded against the autumn chill. She paired it with pointed black ankle-strap heels and styled her hair in a high ponytail. A BBC London sign was visible behind her, and fans noticed the early 70s feel of the ponytail and coat.

The sighting came on the first day of the film’s promotional run. That same day, Ortega attended an official UK photocall for ‘Klara and the Sun’ at The Corinthia Hotel in London. She wore Calvin Klein from the spring 2027 runway, with a small silk scarf detail, and Christian Louboutin shoes.

She was joined by Waititi and Adams for the photocall, and her dog Twigs stole plenty of attention, too. Ortega adopted Twigs while filming ‘Wednesday’ in Ireland, and one outlet joked that the pair were two disaffected stars cajoling each other through press obligations. The dog even seemed to coordinate with her owner’s look.

The timing is no accident. ‘Klara and the Sun’ screens as a headline gala at the 70th BFI London Film Festival on October 15. It then opens in Australia and New Zealand on October 22, followed by its U.S. release on October 23.

The film marks a return to directing for Waititi after a period away. That, combined with Ishiguro’s source material and Ortega’s rising star power, makes this a closely watched release. Ortega is also scheduled to appear on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on October 19 to continue promoting it.

Fan reaction to the BBC photos has focused on two things: her style and her next big TV return. One commenter asked whether the outing was for ‘Klara and the Sun’ promotion, while another said they couldn’t wait for ‘Wednesday’ season 3. A few joked about the mini hemline in autumn weather, though others said they were inspired to embrace the cooler season.

Ortega’s recent career choices show a clear interest in variety. After ‘Wednesday’ and horror hits, an artificial intelligence companion in a literary sci-fi drama is a notable change of pace. How audiences respond to her in a tender, more reflective role could shape her next steps.

For now, the London leg of the tour is just getting started, and there is plenty more to come between now and the U.S. release. Ortega is likely to keep making fashion headlines along the way, with Twigs possibly stealing a few more scenes. The BBC appearance has already put her in the spotlight.
