Jennifer Lopez, 56, Fires Back at Critics on Stage: “If You Had This Body, You’d Be Naked, Too!”
Jennifer Lopez returned to the stage in Las Vegas last night, kicking off her Up All Night Live residency at the Colosseum at Caesars.
The pop superstar treated fans to a mix of cover songs and her own hits, creating a night full of energy and nostalgia. Lopez performed renditions of Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” Barbra Streisand’s “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” and Elvis’ “Heartbreak Hotel,” while also singing fan favorites like “Jenny From the Block” and “Let’s Get Loud.” She even brought Ja Rule on stage for a duet of “Ain’t It Funny” and “I’m Real,” delighting the audience.
During the show, Lopez addressed critics who have commented on her fashion choices over the years. “Why’s she always dress that way? Why don’t she dress her age?” Lopez said, reacting to the comments. She also mentioned that people question why she often appears in revealing outfits. With the audience cheering, she fired back, “If you had this body, you’d be naked too!”

The residency will continue with shows on January 2 and January 3, and after a short break, it’s set to resume in March, running through March 28. This marks Lopez’s first residency in Vegas since her All I Have shows, which ran for 121 performances from 2016 to 2018 at the Zappos Theater.
These performances also mark her first major live shows since canceling her This Is Me… Live tour in 2024. At the time, Lopez shared her disappointment, saying, “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Lopez’s confident response to critics shows her resilience and pride in her performances and her appearance. Her energy and openness during the show reminded fans why she remains one of pop music’s most iconic figures. What do you think about Lopez’s response to her critics?
