Jessica Alba Opens Up About “Humiliating” Nude Moment in Fantastic Four
Jessica Alba opened up about one of the toughest moments of her career while speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival, sharing that filming a certain scene in the 2005 Fantastic Four movie left her feeling exposed and embarrassed.
Alba, who played Sue Storm in the film and its 2007 sequel, said there was one moment on set that she still remembers clearly for all the wrong reasons.
According to Alba, the scene that made her uncomfortable involved her character suddenly becoming visible again without any clothes.
She explained that shooting it went against everything she was comfortable with in real life, saying she was raised in a conservative home and has always been modest. “I thought that was awful,” she said. “It was very humiliating in real life. I dreaded that scene for weeks. I have a lot of whiplash from those days.”
Even though that moment was difficult for her, Alba said she still feels connected to Sue Storm as a character. She shared that she admired Storm’s strength and kindness and appreciated that the role pushed back against the usual portrayals of women in superhero movies at the time. “She had a great moral compass,” Alba said.
She explained that Storm didn’t depend on others to rescue her, which made her a character young women could look up to.
When asked whether she has seen Vanessa Kirby’s new version of Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: First Steps, Alba admitted she hasn’t had the chance yet.
She said her kids usually decide what movies the family watches. “I usually watch those movies with my kids,” she said, explaining that family-friendly titles tend to win out at home. Still, she added that she wants to see the film soon because she enjoys Marvel movies.
Both Fantastic Four films featuring Alba were met with mixed reviews when they were released. Critics at the time felt the movies didn’t fully capture what made the comics special and said the tone often felt uneven.
Some reviews praised the cast, including Alba, for bringing charm to their roles, but many felt the films struggled with pacing and storytelling. Despite the lukewarm response, the movies did well enough with general audiences to gain a following over the years, and Alba’s performance as Sue Storm remains memorable to many fans.
