Ian McKellen and Tramell Tillman are joining the cast of Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, the new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story from Paramount and director Ti West.

Johnny Depp will star as Ebenezer Scrooge, with Andrea Riseborough also confirmed for the film. Paramount has set a release date for November 13, 2026, according to sources.

The movie follows a supernatural journey as Scrooge confronts his past, present, and future, giving him a chance to change his life.

While the studio has not officially confirmed roles for all the new cast members, reports suggest that Tillman will play the Ghost of Christmas Present. McKellen’s role has not yet been revealed.

Nathaniel Halpern wrote the script, with Emma Watts producing. Stephen Deuters and Jason Forman are executive producers, joined by Adam Bohling and David Reid.

This fresh take on the classic ghost story promises to bring a thrilling and modern edge to Dickens’ tale. It’s exciting to see legendary actors like McKellen joining Depp and Riseborough in the cast.
