Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reuniting once again as their video game avatars, this time facing a threat that refuses to stay confined to a screen. The core quartet has spent two films proving that body-swapped chaos and jungle survival can still pack theaters, and this next chapter is billed as the group’s biggest test yet.

That setup finally paid off on July 28, when Sony officially dropped the first trailer for ‘Jumanji: Open World,’ confirming what many fans suspected after ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ left the door open. The footage picks up almost immediately where that 2019 sequel ended, with creatures and game avatars from Jumanji spilling out of the console and directly into the real world.

Directed once again by Jake Kasdan, who has helmed every film in the modern series, ‘Jumanji: Open World’ finds Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin “Mouse” Finbar, and Professor Shelly Oberon adjusting to life outside the game while the human teens who once played as them, Spencer, Bethany, Martha, and Fridge, scramble to contain the fallout.
