Kaley Cuoco has shared her honest thoughts on the recent talk around Ashley Tisdale French and her viral essay about leaving a “toxic” mom group. Cuoco spoke about the issue during a guest appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on February 5, while promoting her new series Vanished.

The moment came after a fan asked Cuoco to comment on the situation, since she is part of a mom group herself. Cuoco, who is a mom to her two-year-old daughter Matilda with her fiancé Tom Pelphrey, did not overthink her response. She simply said, I mean, if you don’t like being part of a group, just leave, baby. Andy Cohen agreed and chimed in during the exchange, which quickly turned into a light but pointed conversation.

Cuoco made it clear she did not believe the issue needed much discussion. When Cohen joked about writing an essay, she pushed back with a smile and said, You don’t have to do that. Just leave … find a new group. Erika Jayne, who was also a guest on the show, added her own advice by saying people can always find someone else to connect with.

The comments come after Ashley Tisdale French published an essay in The Cut last month titled Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group. In the piece, she wrote about feeling uncomfortable and emotionally drained in her former circle.

She described the experience as feeling like being back in high school and said it was no longer healthy for her. If a mom group consistently leaves you feeling hurt, drained or left out, it’s not the mom group for you, she wrote. She also explained that walking away can be a form of self-respect.

Not long after the essay went viral, actress Ashley Jones shared a now-deleted Instagram post that many fans saw as a response. According to the post, Jones praised her own mom group and called them supportive and loving. The photos included Cuoco and several other well-known faces. Jones wrote that mom groups had become a big topic online and gave a shoutout to her close circle for being there during early motherhood.

Tisdale French, who is married to composer Christopher French, is a mom to two young daughters. While she did not name anyone in her essay, online fans quickly began guessing which celebrities may have been part of the group she left. None of those people have been confirmed, and Tisdale French has not added more details since the essay was published.

Kaley Cuoco’s reaction feels very real and very modern. Not every personal issue needs a long public explanation. Sometimes leaving quietly is enough. Still, Tisdale French’s essay also opened a real conversation about friendship and boundaries after becoming a parent. What do you think is better when it comes to mom group drama, speaking out or simply walking away? Share your thoughts in the comments.
