Kate Hudson, 46, Sets Hearts Racing in Fiery Red at 98th Oscar Nominees Luncheon
Kate Hudson proved that some things only get better with age as she dazzled at the 98th Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon this Tuesday. The actress arrived at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles looking every bit the Hollywood icon, celebrating her first Oscar nomination in exactly twenty-five years.
She chose a striking red gown for the star-studded event, which featured a mid-calf length and elegant draping around the waist. To add a modern, edgy twist to the classic color, she paired the look with dramatic black leather gloves and a matching black belt.

Her beauty look for the day was a deliberate nod to her very first luncheon appearance back in 2001. She wore her hair in soft, smooth waves with a side part, mirroring the style she wore when she was first nominated for Almost Famous.
The star is currently in the middle of a massive career comeback thanks to her role in the musical biopic Song Sung Blue. In the film, she plays Claire Sardina, one half of a real-life Neil Diamond tribute act called Lightning and Thunder.

She stars opposite Hugh Jackman, and the two have received glowing reviews for their chemistry and musical performances. This nomination marks her second Academy Award nod, following her breakout role as Penny Lane a quarter-century ago.
During a recent interview about the long gap between her nominations, Hudson admitted she was ready to enjoy every moment of the season. She told reporters that it’s nice to get a pat on the back after working in the industry for so long.
She also mentioned that she plans to soak up every second of it while attending the various galas and ceremonies leading up to the big night. Her joy was evident as she mingled with fellow nominees like Emma Stone and Teyana Taylor during the event.
Outside of the awards race, Hudson has been keeping an extremely busy schedule with several high-profile projects. She is currently starring in the Netflix comedy series Running Point, which was created by Mindy Kaling.
In the show, she plays Isla Gordon, a woman who unexpectedly has to take over her family’s professional basketball team. The series has already been renewed for a second season, which is expected to premiere on the streaming service in April 2026.
Fans can also see her in the horror-comedy film Shell, directed by Max Minghella. In that movie, she plays a glamorous wellness mogul named Zoe Shannon who hides a dark and monstrous secret.
The film features a star-studded cast including Elisabeth Moss, Kaia Gerber, and Elizabeth Berkley. It has been a hit with fans of the “body horror” genre since its release late last year.
With the Oscars scheduled for March 15, all eyes are on whether she can take home the Best Actress trophy. Regardless of the outcome, her red carpet appearance this week showed she is still one of the most stylish women in the business.
She looked radiant as she joined the traditional class photo with over 150 of her fellow nominees. It was a full-circle moment for the actress, who has successfully transitioned from a young starlet to a respected veteran.
