Katy Perry is asking her fans to get involved in a political fight over immigration enforcement funding. The pop star shared a message on Instagram urging people to call their senators and demand they block a proposed $10 billion increase for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE. The post was shared with her millions of followers and quickly spread online.
In her message, Perry said the agency already operates with a massive budget and does not need more money. She pointed out that ICE’s current funding is around $75 billion. Perry told fans that being angry is no longer enough and that real action is needed. “Because it’s time to turn anger into action,” she wrote on Instagram.
