Kelsey Grammer Shares His Best Interactions From the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Set
Kelsey Grammer recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight, sharing updates about both his personal life and his upcoming roles.
The actor, who became a father again at 70, said he has no plans to slow down. He also discussed his new holiday film The Christmas Ring, while giving a small peek at what fans can expect from his return as Beast in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.
Although Grammer noted that he is limited in what he can reveal about the blockbuster, he did describe the experience of returning to the Marvel world. One of the things he enjoyed most was working with actors he hadn’t collaborated with before.
“You know it’s funny, in the old one, I’ve worked with Hugh quite a bit, and with Halle, and then some with Patrick. It was so fun when Patrick did Frazier, it was hysterical. But that was kind of it. In this one, we actually did work quite a bit together, and I don’t know how much I’m allowed to talk about, but it was fun to interact with people I haven’t acted with before.”
He also spoke warmly about stepping back into the role of Beast. For Grammer, the character means more than just makeup and action scenes. “You know he stood for right, for equality. It’s just a beautiful character,” he said. Grammer added that he hopes to continue playing Beast in future projects.
One thing that stood out to him during filming was seeing Beast alongside major Marvel heroes. Grammer said he was most excited about moments involving Thor and Reed Richards. “Well you know, Thor, and Robert Downey Jr. is a terrific fella,” he said.
He also confirmed that he appears in a scene involving Downey’s new MCU role as Doctor Doom, saying he “sort of” shares the screen with him. The actor spoke highly of Pedro Pascal as well, who plays Reed Richards. “Yeah and I really had a great time with that guy from Fantastic Four Pedro [Pascal] Yeah. I , wonderful guy. I really, really enjoyed hanging out with him.”
Grammer joked about finally getting to work with James Marsden, pointing out that Marsden’s character was already dead in the timeline when Grammer first played Beast. “It’s nice to see him alive,” Grammer laughed.
Avengers: Doomsday brings together heroes from across the MCU, the X-Men films, and the Fantastic Four, with the story centering on a showdown with Doctor Doom. The film, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, finished filming in September and is set to release on December 18, 2026.
