Kevin Feige has shared new details about Avengers: Doomsday, and the project clearly means a lot to him on a personal level. In an interview with Fandango, he spoke about what it feels like to finally bring the X-Men into the same world as the Avengers.

According to Feige, this crossover is something fans have been waiting for a long time. But for him, it goes beyond that. He started his career working on the early X-Men films, and now he is leading a project that brings those characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I think for fans, the notion of having the Avengers and X-Men together for the first time within our cinematic universe is incredibly exciting,” he said. “It’s been something that has been a long time coming. For me personally, my career started in 1998 on that first X-Men film. No spoilers, but there might be some sets that you recognize from those original films, and being on those sets 26 years later with my now 12-year-old son was pretty emotional.”

Feige also talked about working again with Hugh Jackman. After their recent collaboration on Deadpool and Wolverine, he said it reminded him how important it is to stay true to the comic versions of these characters.

“I had a taste of it on Deadpool and Wolverine, and getting to work with Hugh again, and putting him in a comic-accurate costume, that’s another thing that is so exciting, bringing them into our world, is getting to frankly do justice to that comic style.”

He also mentioned how excited the cast has been while working on the project. In particular, he highlighted James Marsden and how his character is being presented on screen.

“Seeing how excited Hugh was on Deadpool and Wolverine, how excited all of the actors, and in particular Jimmy Marsden as Cyclops, being in a comic-accurate costume, and the way these guys direct the action with his powers is a sight to behold.”

The film will also bring back several well-known actors from earlier X-Men movies. This includes Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn. The project is set to release in theaters on December 18.

This is a big moment for Marvel. Bringing the Avengers and X-Men together has been expected for years, and now it is finally happening. From a fan point of view, it sounds exciting. From Feige’s side, it also feels personal and emotional, which adds something extra to the film.

This crossover could be one of Marvel’s biggest moments if done right. Fans have high expectations, so the pressure is there. At the same time, the return of familiar actors and characters could make the film feel special. What do you think about X-Men joining Avengers: Doomsday? Share your thoughts in the comments.
