Kevin Hart and Katt Williams Finally Bury the Beef — With a Wild Netflix Roast Moment
Kevin Hart and Katt Williams finally put their long-running feud behind them during Netflix’s live roast event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The moment surprised fans after years of public tension, interviews, and online shots between the two comedians.
According Netflix’s roast event, Katt Williams appeared as a surprise guest and immediately joked about his difficult relationship with Hart.
“I’m surprised they invited me,” Williams told the crowd after being introduced by Regina Hall. “That’s how little star power you have. They had to start inviting your enemies. I said, ‘I hate him.’ They said, ‘Come anyway.’”
The two comedians have been going back and forth for years. Their issues became public again in 2024 when Williams accused Hart of being an industry plant and taking movie roles that could have gone to him. Their feud originally grew years earlier after Williams criticized Tiffany Haddish’s comedy success before she starred alongside Hart in “Night School.” Hart defended Haddish at the time, and both comedians continued taking shots at each other over the years.
During the roast, Williams did not hold back with his jokes.
“Kevin, you gonna hear some things tonight that you’re not familiar with. Those things are called punchlines,” Williams joked. He also mocked Hart’s connections in Hollywood and referenced Hart’s appearance at the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia, which had received criticism last year.
Williams continued with more jokes aimed directly at Hart.
“Before he saw my act, he was a 6-foot man,” he said. “I tried to tell y’all that Kevin Hart was a plant, because I keep burying him. He keeps springing back the fuck up, just like a plant.”
He later added another joke about Netflix’s relationship with Hart, saying, “I meant that the head of Netflix literally has his whole hand up Kevin’s ass and can make him do anything.”
Even with the harsh jokes, the mood changed near the end of Williams’ set. Hart walked over to him on stage, shook his hand, and hugged him in front of the audience.
Hart then spoke honestly about wanting to end the feud once and for all.
“Me and this man have been at odds for years on years,” Hart said. “You coming out here, quite the fucking surprise. But Katt, I can sit, I can watch you, I can laugh because I’m a fucking fan first.” Hart continued by offering peace publicly during the live event.
“This is live television to put our fucking beef behind us. I am offering you an olive branch of peace. I want to be a brother. I want to be a friend, Katt. I want to move on. Can we move on?” Later in the roast, Hart also responded to Williams’ old claim that he had stolen movie roles from him.
“Katt said tonight that I took all his movies that he turned down,” Hart joked before listing several of his biggest films. “So you could do a cameo in ‘Norbit.’ What the fuck are you telling me?” Still, Hart made it clear the feud was over.
“It’s not good for all these white people to see two Black people fighting,” he said. “So Katt, it’s over. The beef is over between me and Katt.”
The moment became one of the biggest highlights of Netflix’s roast and marked the first time both comedians publicly ended their years-long conflict.
