Kevin Spacey Set to Face Additional Sexual Assault Lawsuits in London
Kevin Spacey is facing new legal challenges as he prepares for three additional s****** assault claims in a London civil court next year. According to BBC News, the allegations involve incidents that allegedly occurred between 2000 and 2013.
During a recent hearing at London’s High Court, a provisional trial date of October 12, 2026, was suggested. It is not yet clear whether the three claims will be handled in one trial or in separate proceedings.
Spacey, who was acquitted in 2023 of s***** assault charges brought by four men in a UK criminal court, has denied all new allegations.
BBC News reported that the actor has formally denied two of the three civil claims but has yet to submit a defense for the third.
One of the men bringing a civil case previously filed a lawsuit in 2022, but the matter was paused during Spacey’s criminal trial. This individual, who remains anonymous, claims to have suffered psychiatric damage and financial losses due to an alleged assault in August 2008.
Another accuser, Ruari Cannon, has waived his anonymity and alleges that Spacey groped him in 2013 during a party while Cannon was performing in a play at the Old Vic, where Spacey served as artistic director.
Cannon appeared in Channel 4’s 2024 docuseries “Spacey Unmasked,” to which the actor responded, “Each time I have been given the time and a proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny and I have been exonerated.”
Spacey has also faced civil litigation in the United States. In 2022, actor Anthony Rapp sued him in New York, but a jury found Spacey not liable.
These new civil claims add to a complex legal history for the actor, raising questions about how the upcoming trials will unfold and how they may affect his public and professional reputation.
