KFC Joins the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Feast as Doctor Doom’s Drive-Thru Takeover Keeps Growing
Marvel’s marketing machine has found a new favorite stomping ground, and it happens to be the drive-thru lane. With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ about six weeks from theaters, the fast-food aisle has become one of the film’s busiest promotional fronts. The newest name on the list is KFC.
Doctor Doom has already invaded coffee shops, snack aisles and burger chains in the run-up to the film’s December 18 U.S. release. Dunkin’, Jack in the Box, Burger King, Oreo and others have all announced tie-ins of their own. That crowded field makes any new partnership a talking point.
Now KFC has joined the lineup, and the first promo for the collaboration has surfaced online. The roughly minute-long clip shows a drive-thru ordering sign with a cartoon burger character on it, in a dusty, run-down setting, and leans into the apocalyptic tone of the film’s marketing. It is the first official look at what the chicken chain has planned.

Details are still limited. The clearest report so far comes from Australia, where KFC has reportedly teamed up with Marvel on a themed range called “The Allegiance.” The lineup is expected to roll out alongside the film’s Australian release on December 17.
According to that report, the centerpiece is a signature burger with an Avengers logo-branded bun. It is supported by loaded chips, original tenders and dipping sauces, and a meal box combining those items is also expected. It is not yet clear whether the same menu will appear in other countries, and the details could change.
KFC is not new to superhero tie-ins. The chain partnered with DC Studios in June for ‘Supergirl’, offering character-inspired dipping sauces, specialty beverages and collectible keychains, along with a limited Krypto Collectible Bucket. MediaPost noted that it marked the first time KFC had offered film-themed collectibles in more than 20 years.
KFC arrives in a field that is already packed. Dunkin’ launches its menu on November 4, with six themed drinks, two donuts and collectibles such as a $14.99 Doctor Doom Munchkins tin shaped like Doom’s mask. Its tumblers cost $24.99, and more surprises have been promised.
Jack in the Box follows on November 5 with a Doomsday Dipping Box, which includes a mystery “Assemble Sauce” and a blind-bagged magnet from a set of eight. Burger King has teased a campaign in India featuring a Doomsday Whopper, a Magneto Crunchy Chicken Burger, Thor Thunder Nuggets and Shuri Vibranium Fries. Outside restaurants, Oreo has released color-changing “Stuf of Doom” cookies, and M&M’s put its yellow character in Doom’s armor for a Walmart-exclusive pack.
Even Robert Downey Jr. has joined the party, co-founding a collector’s-edition coffee line tied to the film. The cans feature eight characters, including Black Panther, Captain America, Gambit, Mister Fantastic, Mystique, The Thing, Thor and Doom himself. Snack brands such as Cheetos and Doritos have also appeared with Doctor Doom packaging in some markets.

The reason for the rush is simple. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ brings together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the Wakandans against Downey’s villain, which gives marketers a huge cast to build products around. Almost every promotion centers on Doom, whose metal mask and green hood have become the face of the campaign.
The strategy also reflects the rising popularity of collectible merchandise. Popcorn buckets turned movie snacks into fandom events, and restaurants are now chasing the same collector mentality. Limited-edition items such as tins, magnets and cans give fans a reason to return.
For KFC, the timing is smart. A tie-in during a crowded November gives the chain exposure alongside rivals and keeps it in the conversation. It also continues a pattern of leaning on big franchise releases, after the ‘Supergirl’ promotion earlier this year.
More announcements are likely as the film gets closer. Dunkin’ has said additional surprises are on the way, and Burger King has not yet shared a launch window beyond its India teaser. KFC has not published the full details of its own offerings in most markets.
For fans, the practical question is where each promotion will be available. Many of these deals are limited by country or by supply, and collectibles tend to sell out quickly. Anyone hoping to catch the KFC range will want to check local announcements.
With the countdown to December 18 underway, one thing is clear. The end of the world has rarely looked this tasty.
