Kim Kardashian’s ‘All’s Fair’ Becomes Hulu’s Biggest Scripted Original Debut in Three Years Despite Extremely Negative Reviews
Kim Kardashian’s new legal drama All’s Fair has made a huge splash on Hulu despite receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews.
The Ryan Murphy series, which Kardashian both stars in and executive produces, became Hulu Originals’ biggest scripted series premiere in three years, drawing 3.2 million views globally within its first three days.
All’s Fair features Kardashian alongside established stars like Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, and Niecy Nash-Betts, as well as rising talent Teyana Taylor. The show premiered on Hulu on November 4 and immediately faced harsh criticism, including several zero-star reviews. Its Rotten Tomatoes critic score initially sat at 0% but has since inched up to 5%.
The series had strong pre-launch visibility thanks to Kardashian’s huge social media following, she has 354 million Instagram followers, and the cast’s promotional tour, which produced viral moments like Nash-Betts’ excess baggage video. Hulu’s social media efforts for the show have also been extensive, generating over 7 billion impressions and 190 million video views according to internal data.

Interestingly, the critical backlash may have fueled curiosity rather than hurt viewership. All’s Fair debuted at #1 on Hulu’s Top 15 chart and stayed there for its first three days. Fans appear to be siding with the show as well, giving it a 66% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and driving 81% positive social sentiment on Netbase, a social listening tool.
Kardashian and her co-stars have actively engaged with fans online, responding to the negative press. On Thursday night, Kardashian posted on Instagram to counter bad reviews with fan reactions, captioning the post, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?” while reminding viewers, “All’s Fair streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus.”
All’s Fair currently holds a 5% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes from 21 reviews, while audience feedback sits at 67% from over 1,000 ratings.
