Kim Kardashian’s New Show, With 3% Critics Score on Rotten Tomatoes, Gets Season 2 Renewal
Kim Kardashian’s legal drama All’s Fair is returning for a second season on Hulu, even as it faced harsh criticism from reviewers.
The show, created by Ryan Murphy, was renewed ahead of its first season finale, showing that strong viewership can outweigh critical opinion.
Despite receiving overwhelmingly negative reviews and holding just a 3% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, All’s Fair became the most-watched Hulu Original scripted series debut in three years.
Hulu reported that the series amassed 3.2 million global views in its first three days. Kardashian herself addressed the criticism on Instagram with humor, posting, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?” Co-star Glenn Close joined in on the joke, referencing Critic-Bunny Stew, a parody of her classic film Fatal Attraction.
All’s Fair stars Kim Kardashian as Allura Grant, alongside Naomi Watts as Liberty Ronson, Niecy Nash-Betts as Emerald Greene, Teyana Taylor as Milan, Matthew Noszka as Chase Munroe, Sarah Paulson as Carrington Lane, and Glenn Close as Dina Standish.
The series premiered on November 4, on Hulu. Critics heavily criticized the writing and Kardashian’s performance. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 4% approval rating based on 26 critic reviews, with the consensus reading, “Too awful to love, too boring to war over.” Metacritic scored the show 18 out of 100, indicating “overwhelming dislike.”
Still, the show’s popularity with viewers appears to have been enough for Hulu to greenlight another season. This is a reminder that streaming success often depends more on audience engagement than critical acclaim.
