Since leaving Game of Thrones, Kit Harington has been chasing roles that let him explore darker, more complicated characters. His portrayal of Sir Henry Muck on HBO’s Industry fits that description perfectly.

Fans recently shared behind-the-scenes photos of Harington in boxer shorts on the set of Season 4, giving a rare, casual glimpse of the actor in between takes.

In the Season 4 finale, which aired Sunday, Henry hits another low point. This time, his professional life is crumbling as Tender’s fraudulent schemes come undone and CFO Whitney Halberstram, played by Max Minghella, scrambles to escape the fallout. Harington reflected on Henry’s struggles, telling Deadline, “I think he probably fails as a CEO, where he failed as an MP, that he’s so wrapped up in self that he’s not seeing the full picture.”

Henry’s obsession with Whitney also drives part of the drama this season. Harington explained, “I think some of the conversations we’ve had around how certainly Henry feels about Whitney anyway is that he’s slightly hypnotized by him; he’s entranced by and also sees him as the person he kind of wants to be, business-wise — like he wants to be more like Whitney.”

The finale also brings a tense moment between Henry and his wife, Yasmin, played by Marisa Abela. During filming, Harington noted the scene was intense, saying, “God, yes, that scene. I mean, it’s such combustious relationship. They yell at each other. They’re pretty close to throwing things at each other. It’s a toxic relationship. It was always going to be that.”

He added that he and Abela worked to show the underlying tenderness in their characters, even amid the breakup: “The more interesting choice was: What if the dregs of what love they did have for each other are still there? … There is love there. It might be unhealthy, but there is love.”

Henry’s rock-bottom moment also highlights his lack of awareness. Harington described a scene where Henry’s desire for children with Yasmin collapses into confusion and heartbreak: “It’s so heartbreaking because you realize he’s not been listening to her. He’s not been seeing her for who she is. He’s been totally wrapped up in himself.”

Even at the end of the season, there’s ambiguity about Henry’s growth. Harington told Deadline, “Does Henry ever learn? I don’t know. Our personalities are formed when we’re seven. It’s a terrifying thing… He’s always going to fall in the same trap. He wants to do good, but his personality flaws are so fundamental that he will always do bad by trying to do good.”

Fans who’ve been following Industry closely have praised Harington’s ability to show the messy, vulnerable side of a man who outwardly appears successful. The behind-the-scenes photos in boxer shorts only add to the fascination, showing the actor’s dedication to fully inhabiting Henry’s world, even in unguarded moments.

It’s clear that Kit Harington has found a role that challenges him and keeps audiences talking. What do you think about Henry Muck’s journey in Season 4 of Industry, and where do you see his story going next? Share your thoughts in the comments.
