LEGO is releasing a new 825-piece set inspired by K-pop Demon Hunters’ Derpy and Sussie Bird. The product will be available for pre-sale worldwide on LEGO’s official website and will officially hit stores on August 1. The release is timed around the film’s one-year anniversary, which has helped bring attention back to the animated hit.

The film originally premiered on Netflix on June 20, 2025. It quickly became one of the platform’s biggest animated successes. It follows the story of a K-pop girl group called Huntr/X, who live a double life as demon hunters. The mix of music, fantasy, and action helped it stand out among other releases that year.

One of the most memorable characters in the film is Derpy. He is a supernatural tiger from the underworld who behaves in a clumsy but lovable way. He often knocks things over, especially flowerpots, and struggles to fix what he breaks. His design is based on the “babo horangi,” a traditional figure from Korean folk art known as minhwa, which became popular during the Joseon era. This cultural link is part of what made the character stand out to audiences.

The new LEGO set focuses on Derpy and his companion, Sussie Bird. The set lets fans build both characters together, recreating their playful and supernatural look from the film. It is aimed at collectors and fans who want something physical tied to the movie’s world.

The LEGO release is part of a larger wave of merchandise tied to KPop Demon Hunters. Earlier partnerships included major toy companies such as Mattel and Hasbro, which released themed products like Uno, Monopoly, and dolls based on the film’s characters. More products are still expected in the future as the franchise continues to grow.

The film’s popularity has only increased since its release. Nielsen data from the end of the year showed that it became the most-streamed movie of 2025 in the United States, with over 20.5 billion viewing minutes. That level of streaming success helped push the film into mainstream pop culture quickly.

The success also carried into the awards season. The song “Golden,” performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the Grammys. Later, it also won Best Original Song at the Oscars. The film itself was awarded Best Animated Feature, showing its strong impact across both music and film categories.

To celebrate its anniversary, Netflix is also planning a livestream event on June 20 through its TikTok channel. Fans are being encouraged to join in and take part in the celebration, with the event designed as a global online gathering.

With the new LEGO set, ongoing merchandise, and continued streaming success, KPop Demon Hunters is still growing long after its release. The film has moved beyond just a Netflix hit and has become a wider pop culture brand with music, toys, and fan events keeping it alive.
