KPop Sensation Stuns ‘The Tonight Show’ With First Full Live Performance of ‘Golden’
Huntr/x took center stage on late-night TV this week, bringing the stars of Netflix’s hit animated film “KPop Demon Hunters” to a live audience for the first time. On Tuesday, the group performed their chart-topping song “Golden” in full on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show.”
EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami provide the voices for Rumi (played by Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zoey (Ji-young Yoo) in the film.
Released on June 20, the movie quickly became Netflix’s most-watched title ever, surpassing “Red Notice” with 236 million views by late August. Directed by Chris Appelhans and Maggie Kang, the story follows a K-pop supergroup who must juggle their fame with secret lives as demon hunters.
During their interview with Fallon, the host shared exciting news with the trio: the film’s soundtrack had gone platinum.
Fallon highlighted the soundtrack’s success on the Billboard 200 albums chart, noting that it earned 102,000 equivalent album units in the latest tracking week and racked up 117 million on-demand official streams.

The single “Golden” has also made history, leading the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks, the longest run ever for a song by an animated act. Other tracks from the soundtrack have also performed well, with “Your Idol,” “Soda Pop,” and “How It’s Done” reaching No. 4, No. 5, and No. 8 on the Hot 100, respectively.
Huntr/x also appeared on “Saturday Night Live” on October 4, performing a shortened version of “Golden” alongside host and musical guest Bad Bunny, who played a devoted superfan of the fictional group.
The live performances and chart successes show just how much “KPop Demon Hunters” has captured fans’ attention. It’s a rare example of an animated film creating real-world music stars.
