Leaked Lego Sets May Have Already Spoiled Major ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Team-Ups
Marvel Studios has spent months carefully guarding the plot details of ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ but as is so often the case with major blockbusters, the toy aisle has quietly been doing some of the studio’s marketing work for them. Long before official trailers or panels reveal much of anything, LEGO sets have developed a reputation for leaking just enough information to send fans into a frenzy.
That pattern has played out once again in the lead-up to this year’s biggest crossover event. Reports of upcoming LEGO Marvel builds tied to the film began circulating weeks ago, offering an early and surprisingly detailed look at character lineups well before Marvel’s own Comic-Con panel had a chance to confirm anything officially.
Now that anticipation has reached a new peak. According to Avengers Updated, a new teaser has surfaced for LEGO’s ‘Avengers, Doomsday’ sets, with an official reveal scheduled for July 26. The timing lines up closely with earlier leaks that had already begun circulating online in the weeks prior.
Those earlier leaks pointed to three separate sets tied to the film. The first, reportedly titled Sentinel Battle, is said to include an 846-piece brick-built Sentinel along with a damaged Sentinel head and an X Mansion sign, featuring minifigures for Doctor Doom, Thor, Mystique, Mister Fantastic, Nightcrawler, and Magneto. That lineup appears to align with previously leaked footage showing a large-scale confrontation involving the mutant hunting robots.
The second set reportedly centers on a Dark Avengers Quinjet, a smaller 433-piece build said to include Doctor Doom, Sam Wilson’s Captain America, a shirtless version of The Thing, and Cyclops. That combination has fueled speculation that a version of the Dark Avengers, a villainous team pulled from Marvel Comics lore, could be making its live-action debut within the film.
Rounding out the leaked lineup is a New Avengers Tower set, reportedly the largest of the three at 954 pieces, said to feature minifigures for Doctor Doom, a flame on Human Torch, Sentry, Red Guardian, Bucky, and Yelena. That setting reportedly ties directly into earlier MCU storytelling, since Avengers Tower became the base of operations for the New Avengers following the events of ‘Thunderbolts.’
As with most toy-based leaks, these details should be treated cautiously until LEGO makes an official announcement, since set contents are often assembled early in a film’s production and do not always match the finished product. Even so, the sheer scale of these particular leaks, spanning three distinct sets revealed almost simultaneously, has traditionally been a strong signal that an official reveal is close behind.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ brings together one of the largest ensembles in the franchise’s history, with confirmed cast members including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, and Paul Rudd, alongside returning X-Men stars like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and Rebecca Romijn. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film is currently scheduled for release on December 18.
With an official LEGO reveal now set for July 26, fans will not have to wait much longer to see whether these leaked details hold up, or whether Marvel still has a few surprises left up its sleeve before the film’s premiere later this year.
