‘LEGO One Piece’ New Look Serves Up a Feast Ahead of Its Netflix Premiere

Netflix has spent much of 2026 stacking bricks around the Straw Hat Pirates. The live-action ‘One Piece‘ returned for its second season in March, LEGO’s toy line keeps growing, and a new anime remake is already on the calendar. The ‘LEGO One Piece’ Netflix special is the piece that ties all of it together with a wink.

It is also arriving with more jokes than a typical franchise spin-off. Netflix announced the animated special in April, and the marketing has leaned into the silliness ever since. Trailers, cast reveals and now a fresh round of artwork have all built toward a premiere that is only days away.

The latest promotion arrived on Wednesday, when Netflix shared a new set of posters and noted the series is coming next week. The first shows Luffy, in LEGO form, sitting on a mountain of food with a drumstick in each hand and his stomach comically swollen. The tagline reads “Building up more than an appetite,” and the poster labels the project a Netflix Limited Series arriving Sept. 29.

The second poster flips the perspective. It shows Sanji upside down in a handstand, balancing a tower of plates loaded with fish, meat and vegetables, with little hearts floating around him. It is a fitting tribute to the crew’s chef, and it suggests the special is happy to lean into the food-obsessed side of the franchise.

The special is built around a narrator who is not to be trusted. Usopp recounts the crew’s adventures to Tony Tony Chopper just before Chopper joins the Straw Hats, and he keeps inflating his own role. In the trailer, he claims he took down Arlong and Alvida single-handedly and that searching for the One Piece was his idea in the first place.

The rest of the crew keeps interrupting to set the record straight, which gives the format a built-in comedic engine. The story it retells covers the first 2 seasons of the live-action series, so it works as both a recap for longtime fans and an easy entry point for newcomers. It also sits within the live-action universe rather than apart from it.

The voice cast is the same group that anchors the live-action series. Iñaki Godoy voices Luffy, Emily Rudd voices Nami, Mackenyu voices Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson voices Usopp, Taz Skylar voices Sanji, and Mikaela Hoover voices Chopper. Jeff Ward is back as Buggy the Clown, while Katey Sagal, Callum Kerr and Charithra Chandran return as Dr. Kureha, Smoker and Vivi.

Showrunner Tom Hyndman has said the returning cast made recording sessions easier, since the actors already know their characters. That freedom led to improvised moments that made it into the final episodes.

Vancouver-based Atomic Cartoons is producing the special with the LEGO Group and the publisher Shueisha. Chelsea Ker directed both episodes, and ‘One Piece’ creator Eiichiro Oda is an executive producer.

The special arrives after a busy stretch for the franchise. LEGO’s first wave of ‘One Piece’ sets hit shelves on Aug. 1, 2025, and marked the toymaker’s first anime-inspired builds. A second wave followed this year, adding sets like Garp’s Marine Battleship and collectible Baroque Works dossiers.

Season 2 of the live-action series, ‘Into the Grand Line,’ premiered in March and racked up more than 320 million hours of viewing. A third season, ‘The Battle of Alabasta,’ has been confirmed, and the new anime adaptation ‘The One Piece’ is set to premiere in February 2027.

That context explains why the ‘LEGO One Piece’ posters matter beyond the food gags. Netflix is treating the special as another entry point into a franchise it is clearly building for the long haul. If early promotion is any guide, the tone will be light, self-aware and packed with in-jokes.
