Leonardo DiCaprio has announced that his next big goal is to work on another film with legendary director Martin Scorsese. Speaking to ET Online, DiCaprio said, “Working with Marty again is the ultimate gift. He is our national treasure and world’s greatest director.”

The two have one of the most celebrated partnerships in modern Hollywood. Their collaboration started with Gangs of New York in 2002 and continued with The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, and The Wolf of Wall Street. These films have been praised by critics, won awards, and appeared on many top-ten and best-of-decade lists.

Together, they have received 31 Academy Award nominations and won nine. In 2013, the National Board of Review recognized their work with the Spotlight Award for career collaboration. Financially, their five major films have earned $1.3 billion worldwide.

DiCaprio has said he was inspired by Scorsese’s earlier work, including Taxi Driver and Mean Streets. He calls their partnership an “amazing accidental collaboration.” Scorsese first heard about DiCaprio from Robert De Niro, who had worked with the young actor on This Boy’s Life.

DiCaprio described his first project with Scorsese, Gangs of New York, as an “incredible undertaking.” He also thanked Scorsese during his 2016 Academy Award speech for teaching him so much about filmmaking.

DiCaprio has praised Scorsese for his vision and his ability to bring out the best in actors. Fans eagerly anticipate each new project from the duo, knowing it usually results in a memorable and high-quality film.

Looking forward, DiCaprio is excited to reunite with Scorsese for a new movie. Given their track record, this next collaboration is already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated projects in Hollywood.
