Liam Hemsworth Unleashes a Fierce, Freaking-Slinging Geralt in ‘The Witcher’ Season 4
Netflix has finally dropped the official trailer for season four of The Witcher, and it’s giving fans their first look at Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia.
The actor, known for The Hunger Games, takes over the lead role from Henry Cavill, who left the show three years ago.
The trailer shows Geralt leading a group of new allies as he sets out to save Ciri, played by Freya Allan. Viewers also get a taste of Hemsworth’s version of the character, one that’s rougher, sharper, and not afraid to drop an f-bomb.
Netflix released an official summary for the new season, saying, “After the Continent-altering events of season three, Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge and goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.”
The Continent has shifted and Ciri's at the center of it.

The upcoming season will have eight episodes, just like the earlier ones. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich continues to serve as showrunner and executive producer. The season’s episodes are directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb.
The cast this time is packed with familiar and fresh faces. Returning stars include Joey Batey as Jaskier, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, and Freya Allan as Ciri. Laurence Fishburne joins the show as Regis, along with Eamon Farren, Anna Shaffer, Mimî M Khayisa, and many others.
Netflix has already confirmed that the series will wrap up after season five. Hissrich shared, “This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever.”
Season four marks a big shift for The Witcher, not only because of Hemsworth’s debut but also because it sets up the show’s final chapter. Fans are eager to see how he makes the role his own and where the story will go from here.
