Lily Allen Drops Bombshell in New Album, Suggests ‘Stranger Things’ Star Was Unfaithful Through Disgusting Lyrics
Lily Allen is opening up about her personal life in her new album West End Girl, hinting that her ex-husband, David Harbour, was unfaithful. The 14-track album, released Friday, contains lyrics that seem to explore the breakdown of their marriage, though Allen does not directly name Harbour.
On the track “Dallas Major,” she sings about a partner being in an “open” relationship while “going astray.” In another song, “P–sy Palace,” Allen reflects on discovering hidden adult toys, lube, and “hundreds” of condoms, suggesting her partner was living a double life.
I didn’t know it was your pussy palace, pu*** palace, pu*** palace, pu*** palace
I always thought it was a dojo, dojo, dojo
So am I looking at a s** addict, s** addict, s** addict, s** addict?
Oh, talk about a low blow, oh, no, oh, no
I didn’t know it was your p*** palace, p*** palace, pu*** palace, pu*** palace
I always thought it was a dojo, dojo, dojo
So am I looking at a s** addict, s** addict, s** addict, s** addict?
Oh, talk about a low blow, low blow, oh, no[Verse 2]
Pu*** Palace, West End Girl, Lily Allen
I found a shoebox full of handwritten letters
From brokenhearted women wishing you could have been better
Sheets pulled off the bed, they’re strewn all on the floor
Long black hair, probably from the night before
Duane Reade bag with the handles tied
S** toys, b*** plugs, lube inside
Hundreds of Trojans, you’re so f**** broken
How’d I get caught up in your double life?
So I go by Dallas Major but that’s not really my name
Dallas Major, West End Girl, Lily Allen
You know I used to be quite famous, that was way back in the day
Yes, I’m here for validation and I probably should explain
How my marriage has been opened since my husband went astray
In “4chan Stan,” she appears to call out Harbour for buying a designer handbag for another woman, singing, “You took someone shopping there in May 24 / You bought her a handbag, it wasn’t cheap / I was in London, probably asleep.”
She adds, “Why won’t you tell me what her name is? This is outrageous / What, is she famous?” On the track “Tennis,” Allen describes confronting her husband over texts with a woman named Madeline, asking whether it was “just s**, or is there emotion?”
[Verse 1]
Daddy’s home for the first time in weeks
Got the dinner on the table, tell the kids it’s time to eat
And I made my baby’s favourite, but he didn’t seem to care
I just tell myself he’s jet lagged and I’m glad to have him here[Pre-Chorus]
Then you showed me a photo on Instagram
It was how you grabbed your phone back right out of my hands[Chorus]
Tennis, West End Girl, Lily Allen
So I read your text, and now I regret it
I can’t get my head ’round how you’ve been playing tennis
If it was just s**, I wouldn’t be jealous
You won’t play with me
And who’s Madeline?
I know none of this is your fault, messaging you feels kind of assaultive
Saw your text, that’s how I found out, tell me the truth and his motives
I can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth
No, I can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth[Verse 2]
How long has it been going on? Is it just s** or is there emotion?
He told me it would stay in hotel rooms, never be out in the open
Why would I trust anything that comes out of his mouth?
Oh, why would I trust anything that comes out of his mouth?[Chorus]

We had an arrangement
Be discreet and don’t be blatant
There had to be payment
It had to be with strangers
But you’re not a stranger, Madeline
Allen also addresses the arrangement in their marriage, describing it in her lyrics as requiring discretion and involving strangers. In “Ruminating,” she expresses a desire to remain her partner’s “No. 1” despite his actions, while “Sleepwalking” talks about a lack of romance and mentions “girls in [his] bed.”
I’m giving up on getting sleep tonight
Ruminating, West End Girl, Lily Allen
It’s 4 a.m. and I’m in fight or flight
Ruminating, ruminating, ruminating, ruminating (Ruminating, ruminating)
And I can’t shake the image of her naked
On top of you and I’m dissociated
Ruminating, ruminating, ruminating, ruminating (Ruminating, ruminating)
And I’m not hateful but you make me hate her
She gets to sleep next to my medicator
You’re mine, mine, mine, mine, you’re mine, mine, mine, mine
You’re mine, mine, mine, mine, you’re mine, mine, mine
Course I’m angry, course I’m hurt
Looking back at it’s so absurd
Course I trusted you and took you at your word (At your word)
Who said romance isn’t dead? Been no romance since we wed
“Why aren’t we f**** baby?” Yeah, that’s what you said
But you let me think it was me in my head
And nothing to do with them girls in your bed[Chorus]
Sleepwalking, West End Girl, Lily Allen
You don’t stop talking and I’m just sleepwalking
See your thoughts forming, baby, stop it, it’s 3 in the morning
And I don’t know if you do it intentionally
But somehow you make it my fault
You don’t stop talking
And I’m just sleepwalking
In an interview with Perfect Magazine, Allen confirmed that the album reflects real events in her life. “There are definitely some things that happened in my real life that are reflected on this record,” she said. “Two people who were once together are not together. And that’s really sad. It’s hard. It’s hard for me to not have my person, you know?”
Allen and Harbour married in 2020 but announced their separation earlier this year. Reports of their split emerged in February, around the same time Allen revealed she had sought treatment for emotional struggles. Representatives for both Allen and Harbour did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
