Livvy Dunne is giving fans a closer look at her next big move as she steps into acting. The 23-year-old recently shared moments from the set of the new Baywatch reboot, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse during filming in Malibu.

The update came from her Instagram, where she posted a selfie with co-star Hassie Harrison. Both were dressed in the classic red lifeguard swimsuits made famous by the original series. Dunne kept the mood playful, posing with a wink and a peace sign. She captioned the post, “Baewatch,” showing her excitement about the project.

Dunne is part of a cast that mixes actors and social media personalities. The lineup includes Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, Jessica Belkin, and Noah Beck.

The reboot follows a new group of lifeguards watching over the Los Angeles coast. The story centers on Hobie Buchannon, who steps into a leadership role once held by his father Mitch, a character made famous by David Hasselhoff. The series was announced by Fox with a full season order for 2026–2027.

Even before release, the show has faced criticism online. Some viewers questioned the casting choices, especially the inclusion of influencers. Early clips and photos led to negative reactions, with some calling the reboot unnecessary. Despite this, the cast has continued filming and appears focused on the project.

Dunne is new to acting and will play a junior lifeguard in a recurring role. She spoke about this career shift in a recent interview, saying, “It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time.” She explained that while at LSU, sports came first, but now she has more time to explore creative work. She added, “Whether it’s gymnastics or acting in a movie or a TV show, I just think watching all your hard work pay off… I think it’s so cool.”

Production has included beach scenes and training sessions. Reports from Page Six say the cast has been working with real lifeguards and practicing key moments like running into the ocean. A source close to the production said, “They’re really excited to be working together… They’re having so much fun and bringing that Sports Illustrated energy straight to Baywatch Beach.”

Dunne has also been seen spending time with Nader on set, with the two sharing laughs during filming. Their connection goes back to past work together, which seems to have helped their chemistry on screen.

This is a big and risky step for Livvy Dunne, but also an exciting one. Moving from sports to acting is not easy, and the criticism shows how high expectations are. Still, she looks confident and ready to learn. The mix of influencers and actors could either fail or bring something fresh. What do you think about the new Baywatch and Livvy’s role in it?
