The DCU is entering a busy stretch with a growing slate that brings back icons and spotlights fresh corners of its universe. Release dates are set for the next wave while several later titles are moving through development, which means there is a lot already known about who is making what and who is expected to appear.

Below you will find every announced film on the horizon with the most current studio details. Dates are listed when available and each entry includes concrete production info along with cast and story elements that have been revealed so far.

‘Man of Tomorrow’ (2027)

James Gunn returns to continue his Superman saga with a film officially titled ‘Man of Tomorrow’ and a United States release set for July 9, 2027. David Corenswet is back as Clark Kent and Nicholas Hoult returns as Lex Luthor, with the project described as a follow up rather than a traditional numbered sequel to ‘Superman’. Gunn has said the story sits within the larger plan for the DCU and grows threads introduced across the early slate.

Story details remain under wraps, though early teases point to continued focus on Metropolis and the evolving status of Superman’s allies and foes that were introduced in the first film. Rachel Brosnahan is expected to continue as Lois Lane and other heroes first seen in ‘Superman’ are positioned to reappear as the interconnected DCU moves into its next phase.

‘Supergirl’ (2026)

‘Supergirl’ is scheduled to open in the United States on June 26, 2026 with Craig Gillespie directing from a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. Milly Alcock plays Kara Zor El and filming took place in the United Kingdom and Scotland during the first half of 2025. The production adapts elements from the ‘Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow’ comics and positions Kara as a hardened survivor whose path will contrast with her cousin.

Matthias Schoenaerts plays Krem of the Yellow Hills and Eve Ridley portrays Ruthye Marye Knoll while David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham appear as Zor El and Alura. Jason Momoa has confirmed he will portray Lobo, adding an intergalactic presence to Kara’s journey across hostile worlds.

‘Clayface’ (2026)

‘Clayface’ is dated for September 11, 2026 and is directed by James Watkins from a script by Mike Flanagan with additional work by Hossein Amini. Tom Rhys Harries leads the cast as Matt Hagen with Naomi Ackie among the co stars and producers include Peter Safran, James Gunn, Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris. Recent location work in Liverpool revealed extensive Gotham City world building that ties the film into the new DCU setting.

Set materials and on set imagery point to a horror leaning take that follows an actor whose disfigurement leads him toward a desperate scientific transformation. The project has been described as body horror in tone and current materials suggest the film will carry an R rating as the character’s abilities and Gotham’s criminal underworld are explored.

‘The Authority’ (TBA)

‘The Authority’ remains in development within Chapter One and continues to be discussed by DC Studios leadership as a project that requires additional work before moving forward. No director or cast have been announced and recent updates indicate the script has been slower to come together as the team is integrated into the shared continuity.

The film would introduce the WildStorm team that includes characters such as Apollo, Midnighter, the Engineer, Jenny Sparks and Jack Hawksmoor. The DCU has already seeded connections through appearances from related characters which sets a foundation for the group when the screenplay and schedule are ready.

‘The Brave and the Bold’ (TBA)

‘The Brave and the Bold’ will introduce the DCU’s Batman alongside Damian Wayne as Robin with Andy Muschietti attached to direct and Barbara Muschietti among the producers. Casting for Bruce Wayne has not been announced and James Gunn has said he is collaborating with the hired writer to get the script right before the project advances.

The film adapts the Father and son dynamic from the comics where Damian, raised by the League of Assassins, enters Batman’s world in Gotham. The project is designed to stand apart from the ongoing Elseworlds films while fitting into the DCU timeline that is unfolding across both movies and series.

‘Swamp Thing’ (TBA)

James Mangold is attached to write and direct ‘Swamp Thing’ for the DCU with the film described as a darker entry that still connects to the wider universe. DC Studios leadership has reiterated that the project remains in development and that the creative team is focused on the script before moving into the next stage.

The story will explore the character’s origins with influences from the acclaimed comics era that redefined Alec Holland and the Parliament of Trees. Mangold’s involvement has been framed as a passion project and updates indicate progress continues as schedules align with his other commitments.

‘Untitled Wonder Woman film’ (TBA)

A new ‘Wonder Woman’ film is in active development with Ana Nogueira writing the screenplay. James Gunn has clarified that the project is a priority and is moving through script work before any casting or production decisions are made

This film is separate from the planned ‘Paradise Lost’ series and will reintroduce Diana Prince to the DCU film slate. Development reports note that the studio will not set a start date until the screenplay meets internal standards, which reflects the approach used on other Chapter One titles.

‘Untitled Teen Titans film’ (TBA)

An ‘Untitled Teen Titans film’ is in development with early work originally undertaken by Ana Nogueira before she moved to the ‘Untitled Wonder Woman film’. Studio updates confirm that the project remains on the slate without a finished script and without announced cast or director.

The film is planned to bring the Titans team to the DCU with a lineup to be revealed later. Current guidance places the movie behind other priority scripts while maintaining it as part of the broader plan for the first chapter.

‘Untitled Bane and Deathstroke film’ (TBA)

DC Studios is developing an ‘Untitled Bane and Deathstroke film’ with Matthew Orton writing the screenplay. Trade and industry reports indicate a script has been submitted to studio leadership and that the project will proceed based on that draft meeting the required standard.

No cast is attached yet and no director has been announced. The film is positioned alongside other Gotham related projects in the DCU and will move forward on the production calendar once the screenplay is approved and scheduling becomes available.

‘Sgt. Rock’ (TBA)

‘Sgt. Rock’ remains in development at DC Studios with Justin Kuritzkes attached as screenwriter. James Gunn has stated the film is still moving forward after earlier versions with Luca Guadagnino did not proceed and the project is now being reworked while the studio explores a new creative path.

The World War II set story centers on the Easy Company leader from DC Comics and has drawn interest from high profile talent during its development cycle.
