‘Man of Tomorrow’ Star Adria Arjona’s C Magazine Beach Shoot Throwback Shows Why Hollywood Can’t Get Enough of Her

Few actors are juggling a slate like Adria Arjona’s right now. She is currently balancing a gonzo horror-thriller from Adam Wingard, a top-secret role in James Gunn’s follow-up to ‘Superman’, and Michael B. Jordan’s ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’. She also has several indie films in production, and her lead role in the ‘Criminal’ series is nearing release.

It is a big leap for an actor who first drew wide attention on TV. She played Dorothy Gale in ‘Emerald City’, Anathema Device in ‘Good Omens’, and Bix Caleen in ‘Andor’. Now she is leading her own action movie, and fans are digging back into her past magazine work.

On September 29, the account LOKII posted on X that Adria Arjona poses in C Magazine. The post shares 2 beach photos: 1 shows her standing in the surf in a silvery knit mini dress with a frayed hem, and the other shows her in a bright green one-shoulder cutout swimsuit with 1 hand pushed through her wavy hair. The post had racked up 667 likes at the time of the screenshot.

The post does not say which issue the images come from. C Magazine’s Summer 2025 issue did feature Arjona as its cover star, a theme built around California’s easy elegance and sun-drenched fashion. Photographer Jack Waterlot shot that editorial.

The magazine’s accompanying story was titled ‘Why Adria Arjona Is Hollywood’s New Obsession’. In it, the Puerto Rico-born actor, then 33, revealed she is obsessed with trucks. She owns a bright orange 1970s Ford F-150, a vintage Chevy and an everyday Tacoma, and she told C Magazine that “I don’t like any car that’s not a pickup truck.”

The profile also covered her family. Her father is Ricardo Arjona, a Guatemalan singer-songwriter who is a big deal in the Latin music world. The story described her as one of Hollywood’s hottest female talents after a stellar 2024, which included Richard Linklater’s ‘Hit Man’ and Zoë Kravitz’s ‘Blink Twice’.

Her next big move is the DC Universe. In April 2026, Arjona was officially cast in ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’. Early reports said she would play the alien queen Maxima, though the studio has not confirmed her character.

Fans have since speculated that she is playing Wonder Woman. Arjona has spent recent interviews dodging the question, and she joked that she is running out of tactics. The film is set to open in theaters on July 9, 2027.

Her preparation has been intense. In a video for Women’s Health, she described a routine of 45 minutes of cardio, followed by 2 hours of weight training and 6 rounds of boxing. She also said she has been boxing for years because it helps her get out of her head.

Her latest release is already in theaters. A24’s ‘Onslaught’, directed by Adam Wingard, came out on September 4, and Arjona takes the lead. The shoot included night shoots in freezing New Mexico, stunt work, and scenes performed with 1 eye covered after her character is injured.
