Margaret Qualley has captured attention once again thanks to a throwback photo from the set of her 2024 film, The Substance.

Qualley has spoken about her on-screen connection with Moore, saying it went beyond dialogue. “I guess that’s why you can say we have some sort of connection,” she told a past interview.
She explained that their bond was built on trust and physical vulnerability, allowing them to perform the film’s most challenging scenes naturally. Moore echoed these thoughts, praising Qualley’s professionalism. “I think I’m so lucky to be living in a time when so many of those standards are being broken down and reinvented,” Moore said, reflecting on the film’s commentary on beauty and age in Hollywood.
The Substance was a major hit, earning Qualley a Golden Globe nomination and cementing her place in Hollywood’s spotlight. Directed by Coralie Fargeat, the film also stars Dennis Quaid and won an Oscar in 2025 for its groundbreaking prosthetic makeup and hair design. Its bold take on aging and the industry’s obsession with youth made it both a critical and commercial success.
Since then, Qualley has kept busy with a mix of high-profile projects. She appeared in the black comedy thriller How to Make a Killing with Glen Powell and is set to star in the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2 as Sally. She is also filming the sci-fi drama The Dog Stars, directed by Ridley Scott and co-starring Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin.
Outside of film, Qualley has collaborated creatively with her husband, musician Jack Antonoff, appearing in videos for his band Bleachers. She also appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair for their March 2026 issue, highlighting her growing influence in both fashion and cinema.
The Substance remains a standout moment in her career, showing her willingness to take on daring roles. “Our chemistry allowed us to be really open and authentic on screen,” she noted, underscoring her dedication to challenging work.
