Margot Robbie Reveals the One Romantic Valentine’s Day Gesture Jacob Elordi Made on the ‘Wuthering Heights’ Set
Margot Robbie has shared a small but memorable story from the set of Wuthering Heights, and it has quickly caught fans’ attention. The actress opened up about the moment while speaking to Vogue Australia in a joint interview with her co-star Jacob Elordi, published on January 20.
Instead of talking about the film right away, the conversation turned personal. Robbie brought up Valentine’s Day 2025, which took place while they were filming Emerald Fennell’s dark new take on the Emily Brontë classic. According to Robbie, Elordi surprised her in a way that felt perfectly in character for Heathcliff.
You made my day and, as Heathcliff, filled my room with roses and it was so cute, Robbie said during the interview. She explained that it was not just about flowers. The whole thing had a gothic edge that matched the movie’s mood.
Robbie said the details were what stood out most. I remember thinking on Valentine’s Day, oh he’s probably a very good boyfriend, ’cause there’s a lot of thoughtfulness in this, she added. Elordi had written a note in character and even included a small prop to complete the scene. It wasn’t just the gesture of the roses, it was the thing written from Heathcliff, and that little tombstone thing. I was like, ah, crafts! Love that. It was crafty, it was meaningful, it was dramatic.
The story took a funny turn when Robbie asked what she had done for Elordi in return. His answer was quick. I don’t think you did anything, he said, laughing. Robbie tried to defend herself but clearly lost the moment. I must have done something, she replied, unsure.
Elordi leaned into the joke and admitted he felt proud of the one-sided win. I think when I did it, I felt like I beat you, he said. Robbie agreed without hesitation. You definitely beat me. Yours was so epic.
The exchange has added to the growing buzz around Wuthering Heights, which hits theaters on February 13. The film is directed by Emerald Fennell, who has described it as a raw and intense love story. The cast also includes Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, and Shazad Latif, with original music by Charli XCX.
Robbie has been busy promoting several projects, including her upcoming film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey and her role as jury president at Tropfest in Sydney. Elordi is also having a big year, fresh off a Critics’ Choice Award win for Frankenstein and preparing for new releases like The Dog Stars and the next season of Euphoria.
As the press tour continues, fans are paying close attention to the chemistry between the two stars. After hearing about roses, handwritten notes, and gothic crafts, expectations are high for a dramatic and emotional romance on screen.
