Mark Ruffalo Slams Donald Trump as ‘Worst Human Being’ and Pedophile
The 2026 Golden Globe Awards red carpet shifted from a celebration of cinema to a platform for intense political protest. Stars arrived at the Beverly Hilton on January 11 wearing more than just designer fashion.
Many prominent actors used their arrival to draw global attention to the recent deaths of Renee Nicole Goode and Keith Porter. Both were fatally shot by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in incidents that have sparked nationwide outrage.
The most visible sign of the protest was a series of black-and-white pins reading BE GOOD and ICE OUT. These accessories were worn by several attendees to signal support for the victims and the broader movement for accountability.
Mark Ruffalo, the longtime Marvel star and activist, was one of the most outspoken voices during the evening. He stood alongside other celebrities like Wanda Sykes to demand justice for those killed by federal agents.
Ruffalo used his time on the carpet to specifically honor Renee Nicole Goode, a 37-year-old mother and writer from Minneapolis. She was killed on January 7 by an agent named Jonathan Ross during a massive federal operation.
The shooting occurred while Goode was returning from her child’s school, sparking protests across the Twin Cities. Ruffalo did not mince words when speaking to reporters about the gravity of the tragedy.
“This is for Renee Nicole Goode, who was murdered,” Ruffalo told USA Today as he gestured toward his pin. He quickly expanded his criticism to include the current administration’s foreign and domestic policies.
“We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded,” he said, referencing the ongoing international conflict. “He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him.”
The actor directed his harshest words toward President Donald Trump, calling him a convicted felon and a convicted rapist. “The only thing that matters to him is his own morality,” Ruffalo stated during the broadcast.
He continued his critique by calling the president a pedophile and the worst human being. “If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble,” he added.
Ruffalo concluded by emphasizing that many people in the United States are currently terrorized and scared. “I know I’m one of them. I love this country, and what I’m seeing here happening is not America,” he noted.

“We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality, but the guy is a convicted felon; a convicted r****.
“He’s a pedophile,” Ruffalo continued. “He’s the worst human being. If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.
Comedian Wanda Sykes also shared her perspective during an interview with Variety at the ceremony. “We need to speak up and shut this rogue government down,” she said while wearing the protest pin.
These red-carpet appearances were part of the larger ICE Out For Good movement organized by the ACLU. Over 1,000 events were held nationwide to honor the lives lost and demand transparency from the administration.
Beyond his activism, Ruffalo has remained a powerhouse in the entertainment industry throughout the last year. He recently starred in the science fiction black comedy Mickey 17, directed by the visionary Bong Joon-ho.
In that film, he played Kenneth Marshall, a quasi-fascist commander who leads a mission to colonize an icy planet. Critics noted that his performance captured a terrifyingly charming version of narcissistic authority.
This follows his critically acclaimed turn in Poor Things, where his role as Duncan Wedderburn earned him another Academy Award nomination. His ability to balance absurd humor with dark character work is a hallmark of his recent career.
Television audiences have also seen him in the Cooper Raiff series Hal & Harper, which premiered on HBO in 2025. He plays a single father struggling to raise his children while dealing with his own emotional repression.
Looking ahead, Ruffalo is set to star in Crime 101, an upcoming thriller based on a novella by Don Winslow. He will share the screen with Chris Hemsworth and Barry Keoghan in a high-stakes heist story.
Despite his busy schedule with prestige dramas, he continues to be associated with his long-standing role as the Hulk. Fans are still theorizing about his potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in future Avengers films.
Throughout all his work, Ruffalo continues to blend his artistic pursuits with his commitment to social and environmental causes. His presence at the Golden Globes served as a reminder that for many, the red carpet is a place for purpose.
