The story follows Parker as he attempts to pull off a dangerous heist while facing a South American dictator, the New York mob, and the world’s richest man. “It’s the ultimate high-stakes heist,” a source from Amazon MGM Studios told reporters, highlighting the intense action audiences can expect.
Production on Play Dirty began in March 2024, with filming taking place in Sydney Harbour, as well as in the Ku-ring-gai Council and Hills District. Shane Black directed the movie and co-wrote the script with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi. Alan Silvestri has been hired to compose the film’s score.

The movie had originally considered Robert Downey Jr. for a role, but Mark Wahlberg eventually took the lead. LaKeith Stanfield joined in early 2024, while the rest of the main and supporting cast were added over the following months.
Play Dirty is set to stream on Prime Video starting October 1, 2025, promising action, suspense, and some of the slickest heist moments in recent memory.
