Y2K nostalgia is in full swing, and Paris Hilton is its unofficial queen. Her Y2K-themed party was filled with sequined dresses and disco laser lights, with guests including Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lovato and Cole Tucker. Everyone arrived dressed for a trip back to the early 2000s.

Jessica Alba was a fitting guest. She shot to fame in the early 2000s on ‘Dark Angel’ and is also known for the film ‘Honey.’ She has spent the years since turning her Instagram feed into a running style diary.

Her latest post has fans talking. Alba, 45, attended Hilton’s party in a Y2K-inspired outfit she borrowed from the closet of her 15-year-old daughter, Haven. Alba wore a beige sleeveless top with gray stars and a dark low-rise miniskirt, according to the outlet, and completed it with layered necklaces, a chunky gold cuff, earrings and brown knee-high boots.

The story behind the outfit is the best part. Alba had originally planned to wear something else, but Haven stepped in and pulled pieces from her own closet. In her Instagram caption, Alba thanked Haven for dressing her for a Y2K party.

The same carousel included a selfie of Alba at the party with actress Keke Palmer and Baby2Baby co-CEO Kelly Sawyer. She also shared a video of herself dancing with the pair in a purple-lit room. It was a girls’ night out with a nostalgic soundtrack.

Fans filled the comments with praise. Some said she looks almost the same as she did 20 years ago, while others joked that she is aging backwards. Alba’s eldest daughter, Honor, chimed in to say the outfit credits belong to Haven’s closet.

The role reversal is a fun twist. Alba has said that her daughters regularly raid her closet, and that they used to tease her for dressing like a mom before they started stealing everything. This time, the borrowing went the other way.

It is also part of a larger pattern. In June 2024, Alba shared that Honor wore her Prada dress from the 2007 premiere of ‘Valentine’s Day,’ while Haven wore her Dolce & Gabbana dress from Comic-Con for ‘Good Luck Chuck’ in 2010. Earlier this year, Alba and Haven attended Fendi’s Fall/Winter 2026 show in Milan together, with Alba in all black and Haven in a white denim set.

Alba has also talked about how her approach to style has changed over the years. She has said she feels much more comfortable in her own skin as she has gotten older and does not take anything as seriously. A borrowed star-print top and a low-rise mini fit that attitude perfectly.

For now, the Hilton party photos are the latest proof that fashion runs in the family. Whether Alba or her daughters win the next round of closet raids remains to be seen.

What do you think of Jessica Alba’s Y2K party look borrowed from her daughter’s closet?
