Maya Hawke Gets Married on Valentine’s Day—and Fans Are Swooning Over the Romantic Details
Love took center stage on Valentine’s Day as Maya Hawke married musician Christian Lee Hutson in New York City. The surprise wedding took place on Feb. 14 at St George’s Episcopal Church, and details were first reported by People.
The ceremony brought together family and famous friends for an intimate evening celebration. Maya wore a white wedding dress and added an oversized feathery winter coat. Christian chose a classic tuxedo. Photos from the event showed a relaxed and happy couple surrounded by loved ones.

Maya’s parents, Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, were both there to support their daughter. Uma wore a light blue gown with matching shoes while Ethan kept things simple in an all-black outfit. Their son Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke also attended the wedding. According to People, representatives for the couple did not respond to requests for comment after the ceremony.
Many of Maya’s co-stars from Stranger Things were also present. Guests included Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery, making the event feel like a mini cast reunion.
Hints about their relationship had been shared long before the wedding. Christian confirmed their engagement during an interview with The SoCal Sound when host Julie Slater called Maya his fiancée and he simply replied, “Yeah.” The couple had first met while working on music together, and Christian even collaborated on Maya’s album Chaos Angel.
Maya has spoken openly about why their relationship works so well. During an appearance on The Zach Sang Show, she shared her thoughts on dating a close friend.
“It’s awesome. I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends. It’s the best. They know you, and as a human being who has dated other people. They really know you as a person who has feelings … not just a piece of paper for them to project their image of perfect girlfriend onto.”
The couple had slowly shared glimpses of their romance through social media and public appearances before finally saying “I do.” Now, after a Valentine’s Day ceremony surrounded by family and friends, they are starting a new chapter together.
