MCU’s She-Hulk, Tatiana Maslany Calls on Fans to Drop Their Disney+ Subscriptions

Just a day after ABC announced the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, several actors and industry figures have spoken out, calling for a boycott of Disney.

Among them is Tatiana Maslany, who urged her fans to cancel their Disney subscriptions. Maslany shared a behind-the-scenes photo of herself in motion-capture gear for her role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a Disney+ series, in a story posted on Instagram Thursday.

ABC suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which Kimmel has hosted since 2003, after controversial comments the host made regarding conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s killing on September 10.

In his Monday monologue, Kimmel said: “We had some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.”

The suspension came amid pressure from the Federal Communications Commission. FCC Chair Brendan Carr appeared on a podcast Wednesday, calling on local broadcasters to preempt the show and urging Disney, ABC’s parent company, to take action against Kimmel for what he called “some of the sickest conduct possible.”

The controversy had been building for months. In July, former President Donald Trump warned that Kimmel would be “next to go” after CBS canceled The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which had aired for 33 seasons.

The suspension and calls for a Disney boycott have sparked widespread discussion across Hollywood and the public. Many are weighing in on freedom of speech in late-night television and how political pressure is influencing entertainment.
