Zoe Saldaña’s Joe McNamara has anchored “Lioness” since its debut, leading the CIA’s covert Lioness program as its fearless and strategic station chief. Alongside her stands a rotating cast of operatives and CIA officials, but few characters have remained as steady a presence in her orbit as Kyle.

Kyle McManus, played by actor Thad Luckinbill, is a CIA case officer and one of Joe’s oldest friends, having worked alongside her for years across the show’s ongoing missions. He revealed that creator Taylor Sheridan himself takes on an acting role within Season 3, having previously made a brief cameo as CIA officer Cody Spears back in Season 2.

Luckinbill was born on April 24, 1975, in Oklahoma, and has built a steady career across television and film since breaking into the industry in 1999 with a recurring role on the series “Undressed.” He’s since appeared in more than forty projects, ranging from war dramas like “12 Strong” and “Only the Brave” to the action thriller “Sicario.”

Many viewers may recognize Luckinbill from his long-running role as JT Hellstrom on the daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” Beyond acting, he’s also built a notable career as a producer, with credits including the Oscar-winning musical “La La Land.”

With “Lioness” Season 3 now streaming on Paramount+, Kyle McManus remains one of the connective threads tying together Joe’s covert missions and the broader CIA apparatus operating around her. As the season continues unfolding its high-stakes storylines involving Joe’s abduction and the fallout from Operation Treasure, Kyle’s steady presence and field expertise are likely to remain central to whatever comes next for the Lioness team.
