Meghan Trainor has officially expanded her family to a party of five, achieving her long-held dream of a having a large household. The pop superstar and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, announced the arrival of their third child and first daughter earlier this week. In a heartfelt social media update, the couple revealed that their baby girl arrived just days ago on January 18, 2026.
Trainor took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the first glimpse of the newborn, whose name is as unique as her brothers’. “Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” Trainor wrote in the emotional caption. The singer expressed immense relief and joy that the process resulted in a healthy delivery.
The couple had been open about their desire to grow their family, but this pregnancy required a different path than her previous two. Trainor noted that the decision to use a surrogate was made after careful medical consultation. “We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible,” she shared with her millions of followers.
For the “Still Don’t Care” singer, the health of both the baby and herself was the paramount concern. “We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family,” Trainor explained. She capped off the announcement by declaring, “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl.”
The new arrival joins two big brothers who are reportedly thrilled about the new addition. Trainor and Sabara are already parents to 4-year-old Riley and 2-year-old Barry. The boys were apparently very involved in the process, with Trainor revealing a sweet detail about the naming process.
“Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name,” she said, explaining the origin of the name “Moon.” The family is now taking time to bond privately following the birth. “We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all,” she concluded in her post.
The decision to pursue surrogacy comes after Trainor faced significant health hurdles during her previous pregnancies. In November 2025, she spoke candidly to KIIS FM about her medical history. She revealed that both of her sons were delivered via Caesarean section, which can complicate future deliveries.
Additionally, the singer has been open about her struggles with gestational diabetes during her pregnancies. She previously stated that she embarked on a rigorous fitness journey to manage her health after receiving that diagnosis. Despite the challenges, her goal of a big family never wavered.
In 2021, shortly after the birth of her first son, Riley, she said that she was “ready for three more kids!” With the arrival of Mikey Moon, she is well on her way to meeting that goal. Her transparency regarding her body image and maternal health has made her a relatable figure for many mothers.
