‘Michael’ Star Jaafar Jackson Reveals He Never Took a Single Acting Class Before Landing His Career-Defining Role

Jackson has previously explained that he never dreamed of becoming an actor until a phone call from producer Graham King changed everything, having grown up with aspirations of becoming a professional golfer instead.

Looking ahead, Jackson made clear during the Kimmel appearance that acting has now become central to his future plans. He explained that continuing to act and portray characters people would never expect from him is really where his mind and heart now sit, signaling a genuine pivot toward a full acting career following the film’s success.

The film has gone on to become the highest-grossing biopic in history, surpassing box office records previously held by films like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Oppenheimer,’ giving Jackson’s improbable acting debut an especially triumphant backdrop.
