Mickey Rourke has officially lost his Los Angeles home after failing to pay almost $60,000 in overdue rent. According to People, the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled in favor of his landlord, Eric T. Goldie, in an unlawful detainer case earlier this week. The court granted Goldie possession of Rourke’s Drexel Avenue property after the actor did not respond to the complaint or appear in court. The decision canceled the lease, leaving Rourke without legal rights to the house.

The eviction followed a notice served to Rourke in December, demanding he pay $59,100 in back rent or leave within three days. Reports emerged in January suggesting a GoFundMe campaign had been set up to help Rourke cover the debt. The fundraiser reportedly raised $100,000, but Rourke denied any involvement, saying the campaign was organized by someone claiming to be an assistant to his manager.

In a video shared on Instagram, Rourke addressed the situation directly. “Somebody set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money, like in a charity, and that’s not me, OK? If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f**** charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my a** and pull the trigger,” he said.

He added, “Whoever did this, I don’t know why they did it, I don’t understand it. I wouldn’t know what a GoFund foundation is in a million years. You know, my life is very simple, I don’t go to outside sources like that. And yeah, it is embarrassing, but I’m sure I’ll get over it like anything else.”

This eviction highlights ongoing financial struggles for the 70-year-old actor. While the GoFundMe raised more than enough to cover the debt, Rourke has made it clear he does not want outside help. The court ruling means he must vacate the property immediately and cannot return legally.

Rourke’s eviction is a reminder of the pressures even well-known actors can face when it comes to finances and legal obligations. Despite the drama, he seems determined to handle the situation on his own terms.
