Mickey Rourke has reportedly turned to crowdfunding to avoid losing his home in Los Angeles. The 73-year-old actor, known for The Wrestler, reportedly gave his approval for a GoFundMe page aimed at covering a $59,100 rental bill, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The page was set up by Liya Joelle-Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team. In an interview with the outlet, she said, “Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help.”

Rourke was issued a three-day eviction notice on December 18, 2025. He had originally signed a lease in March 2025 for $5,200 per month, but reports indicate the rent was later increased to $7,000 per month. Fox News reported that Rourke’s landlord, Eric Goldie, filed a lawsuit on December 29, 2025, seeking payment for unpaid rent along with damages and attorney fees.

As of early January 2026, the GoFundMe page had raised $53,961 from over 1.400 contributors. The fundraising page states it was created “with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent [eviction] from happening.” It also includes a brief overview of Rourke’s career, highlighting his rise in Hollywood and the challenges he faced over the years.

The description on the page notes, “Mickey Rourke entered American cinema like a force of nature — raw, fearless and utterly original… Boxing — real and punishing — left lasting physical and emotional scars, and the industry that once celebrated him moved on quickly. What followed were years of struggle not defined by spectacle, but by survival.”

It continues, emphasizing that the goal is “to give Mickey stability and peace of mind during an extremely stressful time — so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet.”

Rourke’s recent public controversies include his stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK. His behavior on the show led to a confrontation with fellow housemate Chris Hughes, after which the reality series condemned Rourke’s comments and removed him from the program.
