Few awards-season winners step away from the spotlight as completely as Mikey Madison did after her ‘Anora’ win. The Oscar-winning actress has kept a low profile since taking home Best Actress, which made her return to the red carpet one of the fall’s most anticipated fashion storylines.

That return came with a high-profile project. Madison stars in Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Social Reckoning,’ which marks her first big-screen appearance since ‘Anora’ and has sent her on a three-city premiere tour with a new look at every stop.

The latest stop was New York, where Madison arrived at the film’s world premiere at Regal Union Square on Sunday, October 4. She wore a draped, semi-sheer Vivienne Westwood corset gown covered in shimmering silver detailing, paired with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.

In the photos, the strapless gown hugs her frame with a sweetheart neckline and sculpted corset bodice, while a sheer, glittering skirt falls to the floor. Her long dark hair is worn straight and loose, and a Tiffany necklace and earrings finish the look. She poses in front of the film’s title wall, with a second photo capturing her glancing over her shoulder.

WWD described the styling as a subtle, sheer take that stole the carpet. Red Carpet Fashion Awards said it never tires of seeing Westwood gowns on the red carpet.

Madison has been working with stylist Andrew Mukamal, who is known for shaping Margot Robbie’s ‘Barbie’ press tour and awards-season wardrobe.

The New York dress follows two very different moments. In London on September 29, she wore a sculptural Standing Ground couture gown, and in Paris on October 1, she wore an embellished floral Dior Haute Couture gown at the Pathé Palace.

Each outfit was a different take on the corset dress. Fashion watchers noted that the London label was a genuine surprise, since many had expected her to wear Dior for her first major premiere back.

Jeremy Allen White has joined her on the carpet in both cities, and the pair posed with their real-life counterparts in New York.

Sorkin is writing and directing the film, which he and Sony describe as a companion piece to ‘The Social Network’ rather than a direct sequel. It dramatizes the 2021 disclosures of Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, played by Madison, a data engineer who teams up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, played by White, to expose the company’s internal documents.

Jeremy Strong plays Mark Zuckerberg, portraying an older version of the Meta CEO than the one seen in the 2010 film. It is his third film for Sorkin, following ‘Molly’s Game’ and ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7.’

The ensemble also includes Bill Burr as Charlie, Wunmi Mosaku as Raya and Billy Magnussen as Teddy, along with Betty Gilpin and others.

‘The Social Reckoning’ opens exclusively in theaters on Friday, October 9, from Columbia Pictures. Early press reactions have reportedly praised Madison and White while criticizing the film’s flat, TV-like look.

For Madison, though, the fashion has already told its own story. Three premieres, three gowns and three completely different silhouettes show an actress who is clearly enjoying her return.
