Few awards-season winners disappear from the spotlight as thoroughly as Mikey Madison did after her ‘Anora’ triumph. That makes this week’s Mikey Madison ‘The Social Reckoning’ premiere circuit feel like a proper homecoming for fans. Her European press tour officially took off in the past few days, and she has been dressing for the occasion.

‘The Social Reckoning’ is Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up to ‘The Social Network,’ though Sony describes it as a companion piece rather than a direct sequel. It is set 17 years after the events of the 2010 film. Madison plays Frances Haugen, a young Facebook engineer who enlists Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, played by Jeremy Allen White, to blow the whistle on the company’s most guarded secrets.

The newest photos landed of Madison at the Paris premiere. She wore a black off-the-shoulder gown covered in pink and blue floral embroidery, with a delicate necklace and her long dark hair worn loose. She posed against a blue premiere backdrop with the film’s title behind her.

The look offered a very different mood from her London appearance just days earlier. At the London premiere at Curzon Mayfair on Sept. 29, she wore a chartreuse Standing Ground gown from the label’s fall 2026 couture collection. She paired it with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, and she serves as a campaign star and ambassador for the brand.

Fashion fans noticed the choice. Red Carpet Fashion Awards said it had fully expected her to wear Dior for her first major premiere back, which made the London label a genuine surprise. The Paris florals only added to the sense that Madison is enjoying her return to the carpet.

The moment carries extra weight. ‘The Social Reckoning’ is her first big-screen appearance since her Oscar-winning performance in ‘Anora.’ White has joined her on the carpet in both cities.

The movie dramatizes the 2021 Wall Street Journal investigation known as ‘The Facebook Files.’ Haugen leaked thousands of pages of internal Facebook records to the Journal, and the stories alleged that the social media giant prioritized profits over safety and hid its own research from investors and the public. Sorkin’s film follows the whistleblower and the reporter behind that reporting.

Jeremy Strong plays an older Mark Zuckerberg than audiences saw in the 2010 film. The cast also includes Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen and Bill Burr. Jesse Eisenberg, who played Zuckerberg in the original, declined to return, reportedly feeling he had outgrown the role.

Sorkin has said the film has not had traditional test screenings, and few people have seen it because of the level of security Sony required around the subject matter. That has only added to the anticipation. The film is rated R and runs 1 hour and 52 minutes.

It arrives in theaters on Oct. 9 through Sony and Columbia Pictures. The bar is high, since ‘The Social Network’ grossed more than $226 million and earned 8 Oscar nominations. For Madison, the film is a chance to follow her Oscar win with another high-profile role in a Sorkin script.

With the London and Paris premieres behind her, Madison has made it clear she is ready to step back into the spotlight in style..
