Milla Jovovich Stars in New Action Thriller ‘Protector’ – First Trailer Drops
Highland Film Group has released the first trailer for the upcoming action thriller Protector, starring Milla Jovovich. In the film, Jovovich plays Nikki, a former war hero who thought she had left her violent past behind to live a peaceful life with her daughter, Chloe.
The story kicks off when Nikki wakes up in an abandoned factory to find that Chloe has been kidnapped. Determined to save her, she dives into the city’s criminal underworld. Her desperate search quickly draws the attention of both the police and the military, making her one of the most wanted people in the city. Along the way, Nikki uncovers a shocking truth that could change everything she’s fighting for, forcing her to rediscover the strength she thought she had left behind.

Joining Jovovich in the cast are Matthew Modine and Isabel Myers, known for her role in Mixed-ish. Production for the film recently wrapped in New Mexico.
Protector is directed by Adrian Grünberg, who previously worked on Rambo: Last Blood and Get the Gringo. The screenplay was written by Bong-Seob Mun, and the film was produced by Kenneth Kim, Ho-Sung Pak, Bong-Seob Mun for Aanaxion Studio, and Ceasar Richbow, Arianne Fraser, and Delphine Perrier for Highland Film Group.
The movie will be released on February 20, 2026.
