Her outfit featured a double-breasted jacket with silver buttons and wide lapels turned up to form a dramatic high collar. Alcock has had a busy few years. She first gained fame as the young Rhaenyra Targaryen on the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. More recently, she impressed audiences as Simone in the dark comedy Sirens. Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight as Supergirl in the upcoming blockbuster centered on Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin. She debuted the role in last year’s DC Comics hit, Superman.
Speaking to Forbes about taking on the superhero role, Alcock admitted she initially doubted herself. “I thought, ‘what have I done?’ I really struggled to believe I could do it. I even called the director [Craig Gillespie] saying ‘I don’t know how to be that person. I’m just me.’ Eventually, I realized the only way through was to trust myself. I always believe life is right on time. Things happen when they’re supposed to, whether you feel ready or not.”
With her BAFTA appearance and upcoming role as Supergirl, Alcock continues to prove she is a rising star to watch. Her fearless mix of fashion and talent shows she is ready to take on anything Hollywood throws at her.
