From there, the episode turns into an all out battle for survival.

Clark, Kara, Lois, and Jimmy Olsen, voiced by Ishmel Sahid, all rush to LexCorp as the fight spills into the streets. The Eradicator cracks open the ground beneath the sub levels, sending Lois and Clark falling into the sewers, and the area turns out to be lined with lead, disrupting everyone’s powers and making the Kryptonians as vulnerable as ordinary people. It is a nightmare scenario for a family that relies on its abilities to protect each other.

Supergirl’s Sacrifice and a Gutting Cliffhanger

Kara’s arc in this episode becomes the emotional center of the entire hour. She unleashes more of her latent power to fight back against the Eradicator, roasting it with heat vision, but the creature blasts her in the eyes and then tries to fry Jonathan and Lara, prompting Kara to fly in and take the hit herself. It plays as a genuine heroic sacrifice for the niece and nephew she barely knows.

Thankfully, the show pulls back from the worst outcome almost immediately. Jimmy confirms that Kara is barely alive but not waking up, and with both Kara and Lara incapacitated, Jonathan tries to take on the Eradicator alone, only for the creature to steal his time travel gauntlet and vanish into the timestream. That single choice threatens to trap the family in the exact dark future they came back to prevent.

Clark’s half of the episode closes on an equally shocking note.
