NASA Responds to Kim Kardashian’s Claim That the 1969 Moon Landing Was Fake
NASA has responded to Kim Kardashian after she questioned the 1969 moon landing during a recent episode of The Kardashians.
On Thursday, Kardashian told co-star Sarah Paulson that she doesn’t believe the Apollo 11 mission actually happened. “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake. I’ve seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin,” she said while on set of her upcoming series All’s Fair.
Kardashian also mentioned sending Paulson “a million articles” about the mission and cast doubt on the astronaut’s accounts, saying Aldrin has “gotten old and now he likes slurs.”
NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy responded directly on X, firmly rejecting Kardashian’s claims. “Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times!” he wrote, tagging Kardashian. He also highlighted the Artemis program, which aims to return astronauts to the Moon, saying it is moving forward “under the leadership of President Donald Trump.” Duffy added, “We won the last space race and we will win this one too.”

And even better: @NASAArtemis is going back under the leadership of @POTUS.

Kardashian later admitted on camera that she often focuses on conspiracy theories. “I center conspiracies all the time,” she said during a confessional on the show.
This exchange has sparked conversation online, with many questioning Kardashian’s claims while others discuss NASA’s response. The episode underscores how influential figures on reality TV can reignite debates about well-documented historical events.
It’s surprising that a high-profile celebrity would publicly question something as well-established as the moon landing. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, NASA’s clear response reminds us that the Apollo missions are a proven part of history. What do you think about Kardashian’s claim?
